GeoIP and GeoSite
GeoIP groups IP ranges; GeoSite groups domains. Category names depend on the data publisher. A database needs rules that refer to its categories to affect traffic.
Open Settings → Tunneling → GeoIP and GeoSite databases → My databases. Set direct HTTPS URLs to compatible complete .dat files, then use Download and save. Blank fields select bundled defaults. Download again forces a fresh copy of an individual file; edited URLs must still be saved. A repository webpage is not a direct file URL. Reconnect after changes.
The Subscription databases tab lists provider files separately for each subscription. Provider databases and their caches only apply to servers of that exact subscription, including when several subscriptions share one hostname. They never replace your global defaults or affect other subscriptions. Each file has its own Download again action. Saving your defaults does not download or modify provider databases.
On desktop, the compact geodata status is in the right connection panel On mobile, it appears in the main home controls It shows the file type, owning subscription and progress during downloads Tap the status row to manage files or use Download again A failed update preserves the previous valid file The database screen also displays size, group count and update date
Source priority, highest first:
- Dedicated subscription headers:
Profile-Geosite-URL/Profile-Geoip-URL, also theQmesh-aliases. Geositeurl/Geoipurlfrom the enabled Happ routing profile.- Local URLs in settings.
Dedicated header files are downloaded automatically after adding or refreshing the subscription, even without current category references. Receiving the headers again refreshes those files. Connection preparation uses the downloaded databases and retries missing files. Sources from the enabled Happ profile and local settings are also downloaded during preparation when not in the current cache. Downloads reach the file host.
If preparation fails, check connectivity, the actual active source, compatible binary format and category existence. Do not replace a failed source with a random file: categories may differ.
